Description

Description: A centrally acting muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasms and pain.

Indication: Used for muscle spasms caused by acute musculoskeletal conditions.

Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to methocarbamol or renal impairment.

Mechanism of Action: Depresses the CNS to produce muscle relaxation without directly affecting muscle fibers.

Side Effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, headache, and confusion. May cause urine discoloration (brown, green, or black).

Drug Interactions: Enhances the effects of CNS depressants such as benzodiazepines and opioids.
