Description

Description: A centrally acting muscle relaxant with anticholinergic properties used to relieve pain and muscle spasms.

Indication: Used for the treatment of muscle spasms and pain associated with musculoskeletal conditions.

Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, bladder obstruction, or peptic ulcer disease.

Mechanism of Action: Acts as a central anticholinergic agent and NMDA receptor antagonist, reducing muscle spasms and pain perception.

Side Effects: Dry mouth, dizziness, blurred vision, tachycardia, and confusion. Serious side effects include hallucinations and arrhythmias.

Drug Interactions: May interact with other CNS depressants, anticholinergic drugs, and alcohol, increasing sedation and confusion risk.
